History & Highlights
The herd was first registered on 14th May
1952 by Sir Guy Ropner.
Twice winner of the National Premier Breeder
Award in 1993 & 2004.
We have been busy with herds competition judging over the last few weeks as well as showing at both the Royal Highland and
the Great Yorkshire Show, some of our 2011 show team have been pictured so you can see them for yourself when we get the
pictures back but until then results are as follows:- Dalesend Pansy 227 - is taking the calf circuit by storm, following on from the class wins at Northumberland and North Yorkshire she has been a class winner at the Royal Highland and the Great Yorkshire. This September 2010 born Mr Sam daughter is from a VG88 Gospel who is dry and due her 4th soon, who is then backed by five gens EX and a further 2 gens VG. A fancy calf from a great british family with depth of pedigree. Dalesend Silky Rena EX93-4E (pictured below) - A cow with a lot of admirers, she is just the right example of the breed, a natural cow who had her 6th calf last October and is due again in January 2012 to Seaver. Rena was 3rd Senior Cow in Milk at the Highland and 4th Senior Dry Cow at the Yorkshire in a class of 8. It's great when an old cow can look so well and come out with her daughter in pair classes as well. Dalesend Lyster Rena EX91 - She had her 4th calf on 4th June 2010 and made it to the Yorkshire to stand 4th in the Senior Cow in Milk class, improving all the time with a great udder, Lyster Rena is the 2nd gen straight EX and shows how well Silky Rena is breeding.
Dalesend Igniter Rose VG88- Calved her 3rd in February, she is projected to over 10,000kg and in calf again. She has daughters by Dunnerdale Kes and Stantons Steady, she is 14th generation VG or EX and her 5 nearest dams are EX
Dalesend Jackson Gail VG88 - so far she given over 10,000kg in her 3rd lactation. She already has a GP84-2yrs daughter by Smiddiehill Emulate. She is a 6th gen VG or EX from the Ricrest Southwind Gail family.
